Decided to begin work on BB200, a super deformed RX78-2 first. Colour seperation for the RX-78 itself is rather good, with only five apparent spots that need masking. Also has a pseudo inner frame which is kinda neat. Comes with a small core fighter unit which needs quite a bit more work to make it look good though. Strangely the hyper bazooka is also molded in a single colour.
Had to do more sanding than normal – perhaps mine was a reissue, or perhaps being a milestone BB200, Bandai produced a lot more units resulting in more flash and ugly uneven plastic bits than usual.Like many older kits, the hands and arms are 2 separate pieces only, which means the hands cannot turn. Not going to do any modding, especially as the deadlines (one month for each) means only four weekend gunpla sessions per kit at most.
Not going to bother with the core fighter and the bazooka. Looking forward to some experimenting with dry brushing and panel line washes though.
Managed to paint two different colours before running out of industrial thinner to clean my AB. Need to make a short trip to the local hardware store after work tomorrow. Three more sessions to go then.

Looking good! they used to mold the hypers in single colour for years, i've got the MG RGM-79 GM and it's hyper is single colour, shame because I wanted to pose my RX-78 wielding both!
Madmoz,are you a member yet in www.bestfoodjunction.com?
Nice, looks like you're off to a good start!
Hah, I have one of these as well..as someone who hasn't messed with SD gundams before it doesn't seem like a bad kit at all, though I think I'll be sticking to MGs. I expect yours to come out far superior to what I could do with one of these little buggers.
was this the older SD RX-78-2?
where can i found it?
